Make a Difference with FUEL’s LifeSkills Curriculum
FUEL’s six-course LifeSkills series provides an easy and effective way of educating and training staff in areas that can make a real difference in their lives, ultimately benefiting the employer as well.
The digital curriculum is SCORM-compliant and made up of broadcast-quality videos that can be viewed on any e-learning platform, not just FUEL Learn. They can also ve viewed directly on learners’ PCs and mobile devices. The courses are available in English, Afrikaans, Xhosa and Zulu so staff can learn in the language of their choice. The courses in the series include:
Drugs and Alcohol
A 12-module course which provides learners with the knowledge to recognise illicit substances, understand their effects and offer guidance on coping with substance abuse.
Abuse & Coping Mechanisms
This aims to help identify the common types of abuse, how to address it with the victims and how to get help. Staff will gain the confidence necessary to support victims and survivors of domestic violence, as well as learning how to protect themselves.
Human Rights & Responsibilities
The importance of this course is to promote values, beliefs and attitudes which encourage individuals to uphold their own rights and those of others, as well as teaching learners what their rights are. It also aims to develop an understanding that it is everyone’s common responsibility to make human rights a priority in all communities.
HIV Awareness & Prevention
Empower your learners by increasing their understanding of HIV, its impact, management and availability of support systems. HIV continues to spread, so preventative education is a vital way of addressing this.
Basic First Aid
Accidents and serious medical situations can happen at any time, either at work or home, so having people who are trained in CPR and First Aid is invaluable. Time is of the essence when dealing with many incidents, such as cardiac arrest, so being able provide immediate on-the-spot treatment while waiting for professional medical assistance to arrive can be the difference between life and death.
Basic Banking
Encourage your staff to manage their money more effectively by learning practical know-how, such as opening a bank account and understanding interest and inflation. A series of in-depth modules teach learners the basics of banking day-to-day banking and empowers them with the knowledge required to successfully manage their finances.
