Score By Enrolling Service Station Staff in Learnerships
FUEL is now a fully accredited provider of learnerships in the fuel retail sector. By enrolling service station staff in our accredited learnerships, fuel dealers gain access to valuable tax allowances, refunds and BBBEE points. In addition to improving the running of their sites.
Learners who complete the courses successfully receive a NQF Level 2 certificate. SAQA ID 62709.
Specialisations
We offer three different learnerships for service station staff.
- Forecourt Attendant
- Cashier
- Food Handler
Delivery
Classes are approximately four hours each and held online via webinars. This avoids the need for learners to leave the fuel site. They will require access to a PC, tablet or laptop to do the classes. FUEL can arrange an iPad and security bracket if required.
Tax Benefits
The financial benefits of having staff participate in our learnerships include the SARS S12H Learnership Allowance, an additional tax deduction employers can claim when calculating taxable income. The allowance applies to expenditure on training and learnerships and consists of two parts:
- Annual Allowance. This can be claimed for each year of assessment in which the learner participates in the learnership. If the agreement was not in effect for the full year, the allowance is prorated accordingly.
- Completion Allowance. A one-time allowance available in the year of assessment when the learner successfully completes the registered learnership agreement. It is claimed in full, regardless of the completion month, and can be claimed in addition to the annual allowance for that year.
The S12H Learnership Allowance is only available for registered learnerships entered into on or before 1 April 2024 and completed by 30 June 2027.
New Hires
In addition to the S12H Learnership Allowance, dealers can qualify for an ETI (Employee Tax Incentive) refund of R18,000 per new hire between the ages of 18-29 years that takes part in a learnership.
By incorporating new hires into your workforce, you can reduce your monthly wage bill as well as receiving the substantial refunds.
BBBEE Points
Scoring well in terms of the Skills Development element of the BBBEE scorecard is vital for entities that are classified as either Generic or Qualifying Small Enterprises (QSE) entities. Skills Development expenditure often comprises the biggest cost associated in becoming BBBEE compliant.
